Indian premiere Shuttler, P.V Sindhu, ranked 11th in the world, has made her way to the second round of the women’s singles category at the All England Championship 2024. Her first round opponent, Yvonne Li from Germany who is ranked 28th in the world, retired after facing defeat (10-21) in the first game.
After a lean 2023, Sindhu is aiming at bouncing back with a successful 2024. With a win in her account against the German, Yvonne Li, P.V Sindhu now has her eyes on ending her international badminton losing streak against the South Korean, An Se Young.
The double Olympic Medalist, Sindhu is all set to face the current world number 1, An Se Young from the Republic Of South Korea in the upcoming round of the All England Championship 2024 on Tuesday. The two are supposed to clash at the opening game of Day 3.
Sindhu has faced off An Se Young for six times and is yet to open her account with a win against her name when it comes to international badminton. It would be a highly anticipated clash this time as all hopes are on P.V Sindhu to grab her first win against her South Korean nemesis. The only time Sindhu managed to have the upper hand on her South Korean rival was when they locked horns at the Asia Championships in Dubai last year.
