Gaikwad played a blistering innings, scoring 69 runs off 40 balls, while partnering with Shivam Dube, forming a crucial third-wicket partnership that propelled Chennai Super Kings to a commanding position. The duo added 90 runs in just 45 balls, with Dube reaching his fifty in a mere 28 deliveries. Hardik Pandya managed to break the partnership by dismissing Gaikwad in the 16th over, seemingly pulling back the momentum for MI. However, Dhoni’s explosive cameo, scoring 20 runs off just four balls with a strike rate of 500, shifted the balance back in CSK’s favor. In response, MI started their chase strongly with Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan forging a partnership of 70 runs off 43 balls.
