Dipa Karmakar’s Achievements

International fame came to Dipa Karmakar’s way after she had a four-place finish in vault at the Rio Olympics 2016 and was just 0.15 points away from a medal. Challenges that emerged included doping suspension, apart from multi-injuries and  milestones crossed in the career included becoming the first Indian to win the gold at Asian Championships in Tashkent in May.

Dipa’s Departure

Dipa Karmakar had to leave gymnastics eventually; she thought a lot about this and, with much effort, decided that it would be a difficult yet good time to leave. Karmakar thanked every experience-high and low points throughout 25 years of her career.

Dipa Showed Gratitude

Dipa thanked her family and coaches, Bishweshwar Nandi and Soma Nandi, who stood with her throughout her journey.
