The Indian National Men’s Hockey team, on Sunday announced a 28 member core team that probably would be touring Paris later this year for the Paris Olympics 2024.
The training camp, scheduled until May 13th at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centre in Bengaluru, is a crucial phase for India’s players following their recent 0-5 loss to Australia in a five-match Test series Down Under. After the camp, the Indian team will embark on a journey to Belgium and London for the upcoming two legs of the FIH Pro League, where they will face tough competitors such as Argentina, Belgium, Germany, and Great Britain, aiming to enhance their performance leading up to the Olympics.
The core group of players attending the national coaching camp includes goalkeepers Krishan Bahadur Pathak, PR Sreejesh, Suraj Karkera, and defenders Harmanpreet Singh, Jarmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, Sumit, and Amir Ali.
Midfielders joining the camp comprise Manpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Rabichandra Singh Moirangthem, Shamsher Singh, Nilakanta Sharma, Rajkumar Pal, and Vishnukant Singh.
Meanwhile, the list of forwards includes Akashdeep Singh, Mandeep Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Abhishek, Dilpreet Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Gurjant Singh, Mohammed Raheel Mouseen, Boby Singh Dhami, and Araijeet Singh Hundal.
The Indian National Men’s Hockey team seems to be a perfect blend of experience and youth. The coaching and the support staff would be looking forward to get the players in the best shape and mindset ahead of the megaevent, Paris Olympics 2024.
