Goosebumps Guaranteed – DD National Promo For 2024 T20 World Cup

Doordarshan has come up with a spine tingling promo "Desh ki Team hai hum, Hum bhi khelenge" for ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024

Doordarshan, India’s national public broadcaster, has announced live coverage of the current ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. This ensures that everyone in the country can watch the matches live.  Doordarshan has come up with a spine tingling promo “Desh ki Team hai hum, Hum bhi khelenge” for the mega tournament celebrating India and cricket. The promo features the common people of India and how cricket runs in their veins.   The promo is created for Doordarshan National (DD National) Doordarshan Sports Channel (DD Sports) by the inhouse team at Gaon Connection – India’s biggest rural media platform and The Slow Movement.  The promo captures the true essence of Indian cricket, focusing on local scenes instead of anything foreign. It beautifully shows grounds in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, streets, neighborhoods, and stadiums. This cinematic piece perfectly reveals the real face of India and what India represents. The promo is written, voiced and directed by Neelesh Misra, a well-known Indian journalist, author, and radio storyteller. Neelesh Misra’s voice brings in the authenticity to the promo.  Over the years, he has gained fame for his unique style of storytelling on radio shows like “Yaadon Ka Idiot Box” and through his writing in newspapers and books.  Neelesh Misra is a popular author and journalist, known for his ability to weave compelling stories that touch on everyday life, emotions, and human connections. His work has made him a popular figure in Indian media, known for bringing diverse narratives to audiences across the country. The Doordarshan ICC Men’s T20 World Cup promo was introduced at a press conference in New Delhi’s National Media Center. Nilesh Misra, along with Information Secretary Sanjay Jaju, Prasar Bharati Chairman Navneet Kumar Sehgal, CEO Gaurav Dwivedi, and Doordarshan Director General Kanchan Prasad, attended the event. Prasar Bharati chairman Navneet Kumar Sehgal said, “Our effort is to show the games being held around the world to every village; we are working in this direction.” Nilesh Mishra said, “I am associated with Gaon Ka Hindustan and I always try to bring stories to you in interesting ways.” Doordarshan’s decision to broadcast the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is a big advantage for fans, especially those living in rural areas who may not have access to paid TV channels.  This free-to-air telecast means that everyone, regardless of their financial situation, can enjoy watching their favorite teams and players compete for the prestigious T20 World Cup trophy. It helps ensure that cricket fans across the country can join in and share the excitement of this important tournament without any cost barriers. The tournament, jointly hosted by the West Indies and the USA from June 2 to 29, can be viewed across India through the DD Free Dish service. The Sportz Planet Desk,Atharva Shetye
