Playing under K Bhaskaran in PKL season 10 feels special: Young Bengal Warriors defender Aditya Shinde

In a dazzling display of skill and determination, the Bengal Warriors have emerged as a formidable force in Pro Kabaddi League Season 10, notching up three consecutive victories, including a historic win in the league’s 1000th match at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur on January 15.

A standout player in this remarkable run is the young defender, Aditya Shinde, who attributes much of the team’s success to the unwavering support and motivation provided by their head coach, K Bhaskaran. Shinde expressed his gratitude, saying, “We are very lucky to have the support of our coach K Bhaskaran. He keeps motivating us, whether we win or lose matches.”

Playing under the Capri Sports-owned banner, Shinde acknowledges the significance of being part of an experienced team led by captain Maninder Singh and coach Bhaskaran. He reflects, “With an experienced team, K Bhaskaran ensures that we don’t succumb to pressure. He motivates us to become better versions of ourselves, guiding us steadily towards playoff qualification.”

Adding a unique family twist to the team dynamic, Aditya Shinde enjoys the rare privilege of sharing the mat with his brother, Shubham Shinde, both being defenders. He shares, “Playing with my brother is a nice situation, especially since we’re both defenders. When we step onto the mat for the Bengal Warriors, there are numerous opportunities for us to shine together as brothers. We constantly communicate to ensure we protect our corners effectively, a crucial aspect for both us and the team.”

Reflecting on the success of the Warriors in Mumbai, Aditya credits the team’s strong camaraderie, particularly among the 9-10 players hailing from Maharashtra. Looking ahead to the Kolkata leg from February 9 to 14, he expresses confidence in maintaining their impressive form. Aditya encourages fans to come and support the team during the Bengal leg, marking a return to Kolkata after several years. He concludes, “We are very excited about this leg, and it is crucial for us as we inch closer to the playoffs and qualification. Your support means everything to us.”
