Competing in her maiden Paralympics, the 23-year-old sprinter managed a season’s best timing of 14.21 seconds to finish second behind China’s Xia Zhou, who took gold, and Qianqian Guo, who managed silver. The brilliant performance brought Preethi Pal a place on the podium and underlined the emergence of the young para-athlete.
Preethi Pal had earlier this year demonstrated her excellence by winning a bronze medal in the women’s 200m T35 at World Para Athletics Championships this May 2024. The recent one at Paralympics keeps adding into the list of her accolades to keep inspiring many aspiring athletes back home.
