The Jaipur Pink Panthers continued their stellar performance in Pro Kabaddi League Season 10, securing a commanding 42-25 victory over the Bengal Warriors in a thrilling match held in Hyderabad on Monday.
Captain Sunil Kumar, reflecting on the game, highlighted the defensive skills of both teams in the first half. “The first half was a tight battle between the defense units of both teams,” said Kumar. “Arjun stepped up in the second half, while Sahul and Ankush showcased stellar defense, ensuring our victory.”
Kumar explained the strategic move of playing with five defenders, emphasizing the challenge of stopping the formidable Maninder Singh. “It’s not easy to contain Maninder Singh, so we played with five defenders, and at one point, we even deployed six,” stated Kumar. “Reza was strategically positioned to counter Maninder’s attempts at securing bonus points.”
Arjun Deshwal emerged as a key player for the Pink Panthers’ raiding unit, amassing an impressive 15 points. Bhavani Rajput also contributed significantly with 6 raid points. Kumar praised Rajput, saying, “Bhavani Rajput scored crucial points, especially when we needed them the most. His tackle against Shubham Shinde helped us secure a lead.”
Looking ahead, Kumar expressed the team’s ambition for the remaining matches. “With seven games left, our goal is to win them all and finish at the top of the table,” he declared.
Commenting on the experience of playing in Hyderabad, Kumar expressed gratitude for the fans’ support. “Playing in Hyderabad has been fantastic. The fans here are passionate about kabaddi, and the support for both Rahul Chaudhari and the Jaipur Pink Panthers has been overwhelming.“
The Jaipur Pink Panthers will face the Bengaluru Bulls at the Patliputra Indoor Stadium in Patna on Sunday, 28 January 2024, in their next Pro Kabaddi League encounter.
