Ahead of today’s Indian Premier League (IPL) clash between the Rajasthan Royals and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the Rajasthan Royals team has pledged a ‘Pink Promise’. They will be donning a special all-pink matchday kit for the game, showcasing their commitment to a social cause. The team shared a video on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), featuring players including Sri Lankan cricket legend Kumar Sangakkara, emphasizing the significance of their Pink Promise for the women of Rajasthan. This initiative aims to garner support for the empowerment of women, particularly those from rural areas of Rajasthan, who play a crucial role in societal upliftment. Proceeds from the sale of the special pink jerseys will go towards the social equity arm, “The Royal Rajasthan Foundation.” Moreover, for every six hit during the RR vs RCB match, the foundation will illuminate six homes in the Sambhar region of Rajasthan. The stadium itself will undergo a transformation, turning pink for this special occasion.
