Jasprit Bumrah has signed his name on the list of the elites among Indian bowlers after crossing the impressive mark of 400 wickets in international cricket. Bumrah achieved in this feat in the first test match against Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Making it 10 Indians and 6 pacers to take this mark, this surely shows that Bumrah is an absolute force in terms of wicket-taking.
The Magical Delivery
Bumrah’s 400th wicket seemed like a masterstroke. One could well say he got Hasan Mahmud just before tea with a ball that zigzagged out of the length, leaving him cramp for room.
In reaching 400 international wickets in 227 innings, Bumrah entered the league of legends who have also crossed the 400 wickets mark that include R Ashwin (216 innings), Kapil Dev (220 innings) Mohammed Shami (224 innings) and Anil Kumble (226 innings) only to prove he is a magician at work with the ball in hand. Jasprit Bumrah has achieved this feat in as lowly as 227 innings, thereby reaching fifth Indian ever to reach the milestone.
With Bumrah leading the charge, it’s clear that he is on a mission. Here’s to more wickets and exciting cricket ahead.
