On Tuesday in Munich, Kane was given his Golden Shoe trophy after emerging as the leading scorer across Europe’s football leagues. The England captain recorded an astonishing 36 goals throughout the season in the Bundesliga. Kane took home the award of Europe’s leading goal scorer.

Legacy of the Golden Shoe
First introduced during the 1967-68 season, the European Golden Shoe has been used as a symbol of excellence in goal scoring. Redesigned in 1997 to introduce a ranking system that weights players of top-tier leagues more, the record for most wins by a player is held by Lionel Messi, who won it six times, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez, and Erling Haaland among the other winners.
Kane’s Quest for a Big Title
With that, Kane’s wait for a major team trophy continues. Last season was Bayern Munich’s first without a title since 2012, however optimism remains high.
