Uber Joins LA28 As Official Rideshare And Delivery Partner For 2028 Olympics and Paralympics

Transportation giant Uber has been named as the official rideshare and on-demand delivery partner for the 2028 Olympics and Paralympics to be hosted by Los Angles.

The partnership will see the Uber deploy its mobility platform to design, implement and optimise rideshare operations across the city during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

“We’re honored to partner with LA28 and Team USA,” Uber’s CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in a statement.

Uber will be providing cars, bikes and other forms of two wheeler to assist athletes, officials and spectators commute the city during the Games.

Uber’s food delivery service Uber Eats will be providing on-demand food to the athletes in the Olympic and Paralympic Village. There are plans to provide food to the spectators are select venues via the Uber Eats app.

Casey Wasserman, the Chairperson of LA28, has welcomed Uber and hopes that Uber brings on board latest technology and innovation to provide seamless service for everyone present in the city during the Games

The exact details of the deal between Uber and LA Olympics have not been revealed.

According to a Reuters report, Uber is the eighth new sponsor brand revealed for the LA 2028 Games.

The Games’ Organising committee have already announced Japanese automaker Honda as its automotive partner, Archer Aviation as its air-taxi provider cloud analytics company Snowflake as its data collaboration provider and Saatva as the official provider of mattresses and bedding for athletes.

According to the report, the LA 2028 Games will be organised at at estimated budget of $7 billion. The money will be paid by the International Olympic Committee and IOC sponsors as well as domestic partnerships, ticket sales, licensing, merchandise sales and other revenues.

The 2028 Los Angles will be the third time that the American city will be holding the Olympics and the Paralympic Games. The city played host to the Olympic Games in 1932 and 1984.
