2024 T20 World Cup: What is the ICC’s Policy for Canceled or Postponed Matches? Will Spectators Receive a Refund?
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 is just round the corner and fans have already started booking their tickets for the megaevent held in the USA and the West Indies. The matches start from June 02nd, 2024. Rohit Sharma led team India starts their campaign to win another T20 World Cup, like they did in 2007. They kick off by playing against Ireland on June 5 in New York. After that, they’ll play against Pakistan, USA, and Canada on June 9, 12, and 15 respectively. Fans have shown a lot of interest in buying the tickets for team India games. However, there might be sligh chances of games being canceled or postponed due to the weather conditions, especially in the USA. So here’s the ICC’s policy for canceled and postponed matches explained. Canceled and Postponed GamesIn case the matches get canceled or postponed., the ICC will try to reach out to the ticket holders to let them know how to get a refund or exchange their ticket. If any match is canceled or postponed, the ticket holders can contact the ICC for exact instructions. If a ticket holder buys a ticket through the ICC website and the match gets canceled, they’ll automatically refund the money to the credit card they’ve used. But if the ticket holder buys the ticket at the venue’s box office, they might have to go there with their ticket to get a refund. If the match gets moved or rescheduled, the ICC might have some rules about refunds, like a deadline before the match to ask for one. If the ticket holder can’t go to the rescheduled match, they can contact the ICC for more information or to ask for a refund. The ticket holders need to make sure to give ICC their account number so they can speed up the refund process if needed. Refunds and ExchangesBefore you buy tickets, make sure you check your match and seat selection carefully. Once you buy a ticket, T20 USA usually doesn’t give refunds or exchanges if you lose, steal, damage, or destroy your ticket. Also, if tickets go on sale at a lower price later, T20 USA won’t give you back the difference. If they do offer refunds or exchanges for any reason, it’s only if the ticket holder bought the tickets through their website or the official T20 World Cup ticket exchange site. There won’t be refunds or exchanges for tickets bought from other websites like Stubhub or Viagogo. You agree not to try to get around these refund rules. If you dispute a charge on your credit card for tickets you bought from their website, T20 USA might cancel your tickets and stop you from buying more. If T20 USA does give the ticket holders a refund, it’ll be for the face value of the ticket, any fees, and the order charge, but not for delivery charges or any other costs. T20 USAl give the refund back the same way the ticket holders paid. They won’t cover any travel or other expenses if a match gets canceled or postponed.
